The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell
LMG Audio Books is committed to offering professional new performances of classic books and short stories that are of interest to the modern red-blooded male reader.
For our inaugural audio production, we present one of the most famous adventure stories of all time, Richard Connell's 1924 short story "The Most Dangerous Game." Filled with daring chases and quiet intrigue, deadly jungles and haunted oceans, fetid swamps and windswept castles, spike-filled pits and glittering pistols and gleaming knives, it's a memorable and pulse-quickening tale that's become a template for how such stories should be done.
The existing audio editions of this story out there are, in our opinion, uniformly terrible. Either the audio quality is pathetic, or the narrator either overacts or reads in a robotic drone, or else Connell's prose is rewritten into an audio play performed by actors wholly unsuited to the pace and thematic resonance of the story. The time has come for a new edition, one that accurately captures the spare yet colorful prose poetry inherent in Connell's original print version.
We thus present here an all-new 320 Kbps professional audio recording, one supplemented by additional tracks containing biographical information on the author, as well as an informative look at the tale's longstanding influence across books, radio, and motion pictures. We daresay it's the best audio recording of this story yet done, and we hope you enjoy it.
